Connected Audience Conference 2022

Held in collaboration by the Institute for Learning Innovation and the Institute for Research on Cultural Participation, the Connected Audience Conference 2022 will take place virtually over the week of 25-29 April 2022, addressing the pressing issue of Public Value and Relevance.

How should we measure impact – on visitors, community and institutions? What does it mean to be collaborative with one‘s community? How can cultural institutions align their activities with both mission and the needs of the community? How do online experiences contribute to or distract from public value and relevance? How does organizational culture influence community and societal relevance?

The Connected Audience Conference occurs every two years and convenes cultural professionals, researchers, and policymakers to engage in discussion about how to build and engage audiences in cultural organizations (museums, theatres, symphonies, etc.). In the 21st century, successful cultural institutions need to be open spaces, acting as places and partners for learning, social cohesion and well-being in a changing world. We need to find new ways to ensure a strong audience focus in the culture sector, and for this approach to be considered a key to an institution’s culture.
