Sharing is Caring

Co-organised by Royal Danish Library, National Museum of Denmark, and Statens Museum for Kunst, Sharing is Caring 2021 will feature an exciting programme of keynote speakers, ignite talks, networking, and tours of Copenhagen cultural institutions, which will be livestreamed in Central European Time.

It is targeted at professionals in libraries, archives and museums, developers, Wikipedians, start-ups, and everyone interested in cultural heritage and digital culture. 2021 marks the 10 year anniversary of Sharing is Caring, and also the 10th edition of the Danish cultural heritage hackathon Hack4DK, leading to a collaboration to explore how cultural heritage data and content have been put to new innovative and creative use over the past ten years.

How can open GLAM data be used, and what is it good for in broader innovative and societal terms? Now more than ever, we need education, cultural diversity, trustworthy news coverage, and democratic institutions in order to cope with the global challenges we’re facing. Our societies are dependent on access to knowledge and information. Here, open data plays a vital role. The more open data are shared, the greater the chance of finding new and innovative solutions to the challenges we’re facing.
